Welcome Inn - Winter Season

Welcome Inn: Monday - Friday, 7am - 7pm
Overnight Hosts: 7-days a week, 7pm - 7am

 

  • New guests must register at Welcome Inn, Monday-Friday 7am-5pm.

  • We are at capacity. Please call to be put on our wait list.

  • Guests are permitted to leave during the day but must be onsite by 5:00pm (M-F) for transport to the overnight shelter unless approved by a Welcome Inn manager. 

    • Guests who do not return on time will lose their spot.

  • The overnight hosts DO NOT allow 'walk-ins' (no unregistered guests).

  • Guests must return to Welcome Inn each morning to ensure their spot will be saved each day.

    • No leaving directly from the overnight shelter.

  • Transportation to/from the overnight shelter is provided, Monday-Friday. The bus WILL NOT transport unregistered guests.

ADULTS ONLY (18+)

Rules and Responsibilities:

  • All guests will be searched upon entry.  This includes metal detection wand, pocket emptying, pat down, and a search of any bags being brought into the main room.  If alcohol, drugs or weapons are found, those items will be confiscated and destroyed, or the guest will be denied entry.

  • Weapons of any kind are prohibited.  Legal weapons must be declared and checked-in when entering and will be returned when the guest leaves.

  • Panhandling and loitering within the vicinity of Welcome Inn is strictly prohibited.  This includes neighboring stores/gas stations and intersections.  Doing so within a 1-mile radius of the day-center will result in immediate discharge.

  • No physical contact allowed with the volunteers and/or guests.

  • Guests who leave the Welcome Inn must return by 5:00pm.  Guests who do not return on time might lose their spot.  Exceptions are possible (see staff).

  • No alcohol or drugs are permitted on facility grounds. This includes (but isn’t limited to) opioids, benzodiazepine, barbiturates, medical-marijuana, and/all controlled substances.

  • Guests can bring one bag into the main room (backpack, purse, etc.).  All other bags/possessions will be placed on stage in bins in view of the owner.  All items brought into the building will be searched.  Guests can retrieve contents from their bins under the supervision of Welcome Inn staff or volunteers only.  Their bin will be brought to them.

  • Possessions to be kept in bins on the stage must fit completely into the bins.  Stacking of possessions on top of a bin will not be permitted.  Maximum loaded bin weight is 50 pounds.  Exceptions for oversized items may be permitted at the discretion of the staff and will be placed on the stage in plain view.

  • Guests are not allowed to leave bags (outside of bins) at the day center without the permission of a manager.  Because other groups use the space, Welcome Inn cannot guarantee the security of bags left at the day-center and any bags left without approval will be discarded.

  • The following behavior is not permitted: *Foul / threatening language *Disrespectful or disruptive conduct / fighting *Harassment of guests, volunteers or staff *Sexual conduct of any kind.

  • Guests will clean up after themselves, e.g. bathroom, dining area, etc.

  • Everyone at Welcome Inn is required to treat each other, the facility and the neighborhood with respect and common courtesy.

  • Smoking and vaping is allowed in the designated area outdoors and requires a smoking pass to do so.  Smoking passes are available at the manager’s desk.

  • No open containers allowed from outside the day-center.
